CAST

 

Kevin Kelly (Clown 1) is ridiculously thrilled to be making his first appearance on the Blank Canvas stage. His recent credits include Scrooge! (Scrooge), Shrek the Musical (Lord Farquaad), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Pilot). His favorite roles include Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, Molina in Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Edna Turnblat in Hairspray, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and Crumpet in The Santaland Diaries. He has two film credits: Chuckie in Edge of Seventeen, which starred Lea DeLaria, and himself in documentary Move On!  Much love to my friends who have held me up over the last five years, showing me kindness, strength, and resolve.  Enough drama to go around, now, it is time to laugh our asses off.  Dedicated to my mother and Aunt Pat, the champions of righteous indignation. TPOG! 

 

 

Joe Kenderes (Richard Hannay) is thrilled to be a part of Blank Canvas Theatre’s fifth season in such a spectacular show.  Aside from frequent performances with the sketch comedy group Laughter League, Joe was last seen on the Blank Canvas stage in Of Mice and Men (George) during the inaugural season. Some favorite past roles include the Emcee in Cabaret, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Riff in West Side Story, and Mickey in Blood Brothers. Joe has been seen at various theatres from Akron to Cleveland, and from Lorain to Streetsboro.  He and his family reside in Mentor, and he works as Talent Acquisition Manager at Avery Dennison. Joe would like to dedicate this production to his brother Phil who is sure to be having a laugh on the 40th step.

 


Michael Prosen (Clown 2) is an actor, educator, and artist. Some of his previous works include Tingle Tangle (Scott), The Vetti Bros at TCG, Code: Preludes (Maven, @HeyMaven), [sic] (Airshaft Man), The Excavation at the Cleveland Museum of Art (The Vetti Bros, Dr. Felix), Marble Cities (The Doctor)and Inoculations (Michael) with Theater Ninjas. He has also appeared in The Gyntish Self (Peter Gynt) with Wooden Nickelodeon, Doug is a D-Bag (Wallace Jaspers) at Cleveland Public Theatre, and Devil Boys From Beyond (Gregory Graham) at convergence-continuum. He previously served as an actor-teacher for The MAD Factory Children’s Theatre’s acting classes and outreach programs. He holds a BA degree in Theatre from Kent State University.

 

 

Rachael Swartz (Annabella/Margaret/Pamela) is thrilled to join the Blank Canvas family.  Rachael serves as a professor of acting at Ashland University and Education Director at Maples Repertory Theatre.  Previous roles include Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Sara Jane Moore in Assassins, Artemis in Eleemosynary, and Betsy/Lindsey in Clybourne Park.  She'd love you to come see her in Birds of Paradise at Blank Canvas in April! Rachael received her BA from Baldwin Wallace University and MFA in Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi.  She is a proud Equity Membership Candidate.
