CAST

DeLee Cooper (Student) is originally from Zanesville, Ohio, and is now a Cleveland-based actor and teaching artist.  She holds a BFA in Acting from Wright State University, and works as an Actor-Teacher with Great Lakes Theater and a dancer with Rock the House Entertainment.  Some recent credits include: Jekyll & Hyde (Lucy), Billy Elliot the Musical (Leslie/Ensemble), Heathers: The Musical (New Wave Party Girl), and Alice in Wonderland (Storyteller/Duchess).

 

 


Stuart Hoffman (Sean) appeared at Blank Canvas Theatre earlier this year in Birds of Paradise and will complete 2016 on this same stage in Cabaret this December. He has also been seen around town at Mamai Theatre (Lady Windermere’s Fan), convergence-continuum (My Barking Dog), Cleveland Public Theatre (Standing on Ceremony, Johanna: Facing Forward), and several others.  Stuart's plays have been seen at Talespinner Children’s Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Dobama Theatre, Lorain County Community College, World Without Windows, and Cleveland Public Theatre, where he recently completed the Nord Family Playwriting Fellowship.  Huge thanks to CPT's Dark Room, convergence-continuum, and Dobama's Playwright's GYM, all of which have hosted readings of earlier drafts of this play. Thank you to all actors, past and present, who've taken part in this show, and whose names are too numerous to list here. Thank you to Patrick for creating the Factory Series and taking the chance on new local work. Thank you all for supporting live theatre.


Doug Kusak (Saul) is happy to return to the Blank Canvas stage having performed in Hellcab and Frankie and Johnny. If you see his acting resume, it’ll probably just say “multiple roles” so as not to mess up formatting.  Other professional theatrical credits (in alphabetical order) include Bad Epitaph Theater, the bang and the clatter theatre, Beck Center, Cain Park, Charenton Theater, Cleveland Public Theatre, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, Cleveland SignStage Theatre (three national tours: 2001, 2003, and 2005), convergence-continuum,  the Dirty Shakespeare Company, Ensemble Theatre, Fairmount Performing Arts Center, Great Lakes Theater Festival (outreach tour), Lakeland Theater, Red Hen Theater, Theater Ninjas and TITLEWave Theatre. Doug appears as Marty Machody in the award-winning, feature-length, independent film And the Winner Is... Other work includes industrials, commercials, and voice-overs. 


Teresa McDonough (Jean) is thrilled to be making her Blank Canvas Theatre debut.  She feels honored to be working with such local theatre icons.  Local credits include Three Tall Women (B) at convergence-continuum, Orange Flower Water (Cathy Calhoun) at the bang and the clatter,  The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolyn) at LCCC, Night Bloomers (Shopper, Greta) at Dobama Theatre, and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Helena) at Tri-C Metro.  She thanks the three beautiful men in her life, Nathan, Gabriel, and Michael, for supporting her and loving her.

 

 

 

Faith Whitacre (Sophie) is new to Blank Canvas Theatre and is having fun working with the cast of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. She is currently is studying Human Communication as an online student with Arizona State University. Last quarter, she registered for a Hitchcock class the same day she auditioned for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, although Jean was not her professor.  Favorite roles in Cleveland have been Portia in The Merchant of Venice (Cleveland Shakespeare Festival), Miss Frances in Death of a Salesman (Ensemble Theatre), Isabella in Measure for Measure (CSF), and Karen and Margie as an Actor-Educator with Cleveland Play House. She also enjoyed coaching monologues and scenes with CSA graduating seniors last spring.  Faith has been performing for two decades and is grateful to the various places where she had the opportunity to learn and develop as an actor. (Masterworks Festival, Belhaven University, Stella Adler Studio of Acting.) .She's also grateful for the creative environment her family provided as she grew up. She loves exploring how storytelling intersects with her faith and theology, and she is thankful for her beautiful community here in CLE; they make this city great.

 

Bobby Williams (David) is pleased to be appearing on the Blank Canvas Theatre stage for the first time. Credits include It Ain’t Nothing But the Blues for Karamu Theatre, The Iceman Cometh for Ensemble Theatre, The Two Gentlemen of Verona for Great Lakes Theatre, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom for Beck Center, and America Hurrah for Dobama Theatre.

 

 

 

 

Venchise Glenn (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be back home at Blank Canvas Theatre after an excruciating two-month hiatus.  Venchise has worked behind the scenes of Glengarry Glen Ross, The Wild Party, and The 39 Steps as the Stage Manager and Sound Board Operator.  She is also no stranger to being in front of the curtain, and has most recently performed in the 2016 Blank Canvas Theatre Benefit, Bat Boy: The Musical (Daisy), and Hair (Tribe).  When she isn't at Blank Canvas, Venchise can be found online looking for dogs to adopt or re-reading the Harry Potter series.  Thank you to Patrick for another wonderful opportunity.


Jacqi Loewy (Director) celebrates 4 decades as a busy director/actor/stage manager/educator.  Her direction has been seen at The Cleveland Play House, Dobama,  Ensemble, Interplay Jewish Theatre, CASE, JCC Halle, Playhouse Square and Cleveland Public Theatre.  As an AEA/SAG/AFTRA actress/stage manager, Jacqi has worked on Broadway, in international touring companies, at several Cleveland venues and in many recognizable feature films/commercials.  As a playwright and/or producer, her credits include Mr. Lewis Rules: Stories from the Juvenile Justice System, Legally Addicted (opiate addiction epidemic) and Both Sides of the Family (interfaith relationships). Jacqi is also a full-time professor of Theatre and Communication at Notre Dame College.
