What to prepare: Please prepare two contrasting cuts in the style of the show (contemporary musical theatre), not to exceed three minutes total. A comedic uptempo and dramatic ballad is preferred if possible. Please bring a headshot and resume to auditions. Headshots and resumes are appreciated, but not required.
Performance Dates:
December 4 - 19
Shows will be Thursday-Sunday. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm. Sunday performances will be at 7:00pm.
Rehearsals:
Begin November 2
Rehearsals will be Sundays-Thursdays. Typically 7pm-10pm, though Sundays are usually 6pm-10pm.
Pay: Blank Canvas Theatre dedicates 20% of the net profit to the cast of each show. The cast splits this evenly.

The Cleveland Premiere
Khan!!! The Musical! is an irreverent Star Trek parody musical that pays homage to the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Created by YouTube star Brent "Brentalfloss" Black, the show is framed as a 24th-century "Holodeck" production written by the android Data
The musical premiered Off-Broadway at the Players Theatre in New York City in May 2023. Since its successful run, it has expanded to regional productions in Texas, Buffalo, and Michigan, with international performances scheduled for Australia… and NOW Cleveland!
Character Breakdown
We welcome and encourage all ages, gender identities/expressions, body types, disabilities and races/cultural backgrounds to audition.
DATA: (25-50, BARI-TENOR OR TENOR) A robotic android who hams it up onstage.
KIRK: (25-55, BARI-TENOR to TENOR) A military space admiral with a fragile ego.
KHAN: (25-55, TENOR) A campy, scenery-chewing villain.
SPOCK: (25-55, BASS TO BARI-TENOR) A stoic half-human/half-alien.
SAAVIK: ( 20-35, MEZZO OR SOPRANO) An awkward cadet/ingenue.
CHEKOV: (25- 40, VOCAL RANGE FLEXIBLE) A simple-minded commander; Russian accent.
BONES: (25-60, RANGE FLEXIBLE (WRITTEN AS CONTRALTO-TO-MEZZO) A crotchety Southern doctor.
SULU: (25- 50, BARITONE (OR ALTO), TRADITIONALLY ASIAN) The ship’s pilot; professional yet flamboyant.
SCOTTY: (25- 50, MEZZO/ALTO FLEXIBLE) The ship’s engineer; Scottish accent.
UHURA: (25-45, MEZZO, TRADITIONALLY AFRICAN AMERICAN) A sardonic communications officer. Vocal riffing a plus.
REDSHIRT: (25 35, VOCAL RANGE FLEXIBLE) An overconfident coward.
CAROL: (25- 45, MEZZO-TO-SOPRANO FLEXIBLE) Kirk’s ex-girlfriend; tough yet warm.
